Why am I here?

At some point, each of us has asked the question, “Why am I here?, Does life have a purpose”? The answer to both these questions, is YES, ABSOLUTELY!! I am so excited to share with you, the marvellous plan of redemption and salvation God has prepared specifically for YOU! Ok, here are the basic essentials – a long time ago, God formed a perfect creation, free of death, pain, anger, diseases. Adam and Eve were the very first humans to live on planet Earth, and were made in His image to be part of His family. Tragically, Adam and Eve disobeyed God, who kicked them out of their perfect home in Eden. From now on, they would know human suffering, illness, pain, and death. It is at this moment of intentional disobedience, where SIN first entered into the world.

So, what’s the big deal, how does this effect me? Now this is important, please read this slowly and carefully – “Because Adam and Eve disobeyed God, sin was permitted entrance into our world.” The “big deal” is this; the effects of sin upon this world was, and continues to be profound. The truth is, our whole world is running down, and groans under the centuries of death and decay because of sin. We do not need to look very far to see what God has to say about our collective problem with sin.

In the beginning…

God created the Earth and filled the earth, seas, and sky with life; everything was perfect and good. In a very special act of Creation, God created the first human, Adam – “When the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, neither wild plants nor grains were growing on the earth. For the LORD God had not yet sent rain to water the earth, and there were no people to cultivate the soil. Instead, springs came up from the ground and watered all the land. Then the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground. He breathed the breast of life into the man’s nostrils, and the man became a living person.” Genesis 2:4-7, New Living Translation. A bit later, God created the first woman, Eve, and they became husband and wife.

Early instructions from God…

‘The LORD God placed the man in the Garden of Eden to tend and watch over it. But the LORD God warned him, You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden – except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die.” Adam and Eve were to have dominion over God’s creation, tending and caring for everything the Lord had made. *We will explore further in a separate article, how sin came into the world through an unfortunate and singular act of disobedience. If Adam and Eve had not sinned they would have enjoyed for eternity, personal and close fellowship with God. This is what God wants from YOU, to enter into an eternal and intimate relationship with Him. Jesus taught much about the Kingdom of Heaven along with the dangers of eternal damnation in hell. Jesus said…

“For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17, New Living Translation

Future home of all Christians…

“The twelve gates were made of pearls – each gate from a single pearl! And the main street was pure gold, as clear as glass. I saw no temple in the city, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. And the city has no need of sun or moon, for the glory of God illuminates the city, and the Lamb is its light. The nations will walk in its light, and the kings of the world will enter the city in all their glory. Its gates will never be closed at the end of day because there is no night there. And all the nations will bring their glory and honor into the city. Nothing evil will be allowed to enter, nor anyone who practices shameful idolatry and dishonesty – but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”Revelation 21:21-17, New Living Translation

“Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.” John 14:1-3, New Living Translation

Memory StatementGod loves me so much He died for my sins, and wants me to live with Him forever and ever. What could be better?
